Adam Daley Photography

My name is Adam Daley. I currently reside in Lindenhurst, NY. My love of photography dates back to when I was a child and had absolutely no idea what I was doing. Armed with one of those remote control shaped camersa with the flash cartrides you plugged into the top, I was on my way to a joyfull hobby.

Of course at that age, I had no idea what I was doing. And I still sometimes wonder if I have any clue as to what i'm doing out there. But I'm learning. I began getting into photography when I bought my first real camera. A Nikon Coolpix 5000. I picked this up on eBay and began my journey into the life of photography.

I started taking photos of cars at car shows. I took a job in a marketing department for an automotive accessory company and got to use a Nikon D1X. I still had no idea what I was doing. I had no idea what aperatures were or ISO ratings. I basically spun the dials until a good looking picture came out.

Fast forward to a February of 2007. I decided to get back into photography. I had since sold my equipment to pay for a move from NJ to Long Island. I picked up a Nikon D70 on eBay and began to learn as much as I could. Being a volunteer EMT at the time I had a love for photographing car accidents and fires. I got involved with the local newspapers and began shooting for them as a freelancer.

Fast forward to today. Shooting with a Nikon D300 in my free time. I work fulltime in the IT industry but still freelance for various news media agencies around New York. To date, my photos have appeared in Fire News, 1st Responder Wireless News, Newsday, New York Post and WNBC.

My primary lense is a Nikon 18-200mm f/3.5 - 5.6 VR lense.  I also shoot with a Sigma 80-400mm f/4.5 - 5.6 lense with OS. Not a lense I shoot photos that end up on walls, but usefull in the news-media market.
